HFCs, the full name of hydrofluorocarbons, is considered to be one of the important factors causing global warming. Restricting or banning the use of high-GWP(global warming potential) refrigerants has become a global consensus. With the continuous advancement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategies, as well as the global emphasis on environmental protection, governments of various countries have introduced a series of strict environmental protection regulations. This year, China will reduce the second-generation and third-generation refrigerants and implement a quota policy.
In 2024, it is expected that the refrigerant quota will be reduced by 5,000 tons to 6,000 tons, of which the domestic sales quota will be reduced by 4,000 tons and the export sales quota will be reduced by 1,000 tons to 2,000 tons. The quotas of second-generation refrigerants F141b, R142b, and R22 have been reduced by 77%, 59%, and 41% respectively compared with 2013. The cumulative reduction of the three is 50.1%, which provides a broad market space for the third-generation refrigerant R32.
As a low GWP refrigerant, R32's efficient refrigeration performance and good system compatibility make it widely used in household air conditioning, central air conditioning and some industrial refrigeration fields. In addition, compared with other low-GWP refrigerants, R32 is more cost-effective and favored by many manufacturers and end users, which has injected strong impetus into the R32 market.

Coupled with the maintenance of production equipment during part of the period, the market price of R32 rose from less than 20,000 yuan at the beginning of the year to 36,000 yuan at the end of June. The largest increase and the longest duration were the only ones in history.
At present, the company has no pressure on production and sales, and no inventory problems. While the market is rising sharply, the profits of manufacturing companies are also rising and the profits are huge. Taking the end of June as an example, the production cost of R32 was about 16,000 yuan, and the profit was close to 20,000 yuan.
